While we all become adjusted to the new normal of online classes, keeping in touch with friends virtually and trying not to murder our siblings, it can be easy to let ourselves become consumed in our own bubble and become disconnected from each other. Here are five ways you can give back to others which are guaranteed to make you feel better too!
Give Someone a Call
While group chats are great to share banter with friends, making an effort to reach out to family and friends personally can go a long way in letting them know how much you love and value them and makes them feel special.
Donate to Local Charities
With all the money we’ve been saving being at home, why not donate to your local hospital, food banks and homeless shelters and be a part of making a positive difference.
With fewer people leaving the house, the number of blood donations has fallen drastically with hospitals expecting shortages soon, so if you can, donate!
Support Local Businesses
Have a favourite cafe or restaurant? Show your support through takeaway orders or shopping at a local grocer over Coles or Woolies. Smaller businesses are much more vulnerable during these times, and they’ll appreciate it.
Adopt a Furry Friend
With restrictions easing, many animal shelters have begun to reopen again with a surge of pets in need of love, so if isolation has you feeling lonely, what better reason to adopt a furry friend! Still not convinced? Check out our blog on why pets are amazing here!
