The Education & Innovation Portfolio provides students, studying the Bachelor of Business, with opportunities to supplement their core learning with events such as exam workshops and how-to sessions on essential business softwares, like Xero and Excel. They engage with the innovative and entrepreneurial side of business through collaborating with other societies on case competitions and pitching events.

UTS BSoc First Year Exam Workshops - Autumn 2021

The portfolio ran workshops covering the following Bachelor of Business core units: Accounting for Business Decisions A, Business Statistics, Economics for Business and Integrating Business Perspectives. A workshop for Fundamentals of Business Finance by also hosted by the UTS Banking and Finance Society.

UTS BSoc Pitch and Pitcher 2021

Pitch & Pitcher was a hackathon-style event with a twist. Teams of 4 responded to a prompt and developed a business idea to solve the prompt within a matter of hours. The event was judged by HEX Hacker Exchange; a organisation focused on launching innovation careers, by creating a generation of leaders who take action to create their ideal world.

UTS BSoc & WiB Majors Week 2020

UTS BSoc & WiB Majors Week was a 3 day event in which senior students presented about their respective majors. These included Economics, Accounting and Finance on the first day. Followed by Marketing and Advertising Communications on the second day and lastly followed by Management and HR. This provided the students which a great understanding of each respective major.

 

UTS BSoc: First Year Exam Workshops 2020

BSoc x WiB Majors Panel 2019

UTS BSoc & WiB Majors Pannel was a informational night ran by the two societies to educate first year students on what each major contains and other advice. It was run by students in each of the respective majors.

 

Internship Skills: Excel Workshop 2019

UTS BSoc ran an excel workshop to help students with internship skills. Most internships and graduate roles in business will expect that student will have a good understanding of excel. This workshop covered Tables, Cell referencing, Conditional formatting, Named ranges and Advanced filtering

UTS BSoc: Build Your Own Website Workshop 2018

This workshop helped students increase their employment potential, expand your digital and enter the e-commerce market with any side-hustle ideas, by teaching them how to create a site from scratch.
